Churches and Community Centres

Churches, community centres and town halls are always an interesting situation as the venues are often used in a variety of different ways by different groups of people.

As a result, most of these venues have been designed in a very practical way to meet these needs, but often this comes as a compromise of the operator's ability to achieve their desired results.
At Venue Technical Services we have dealt with a large number of different churches, community centres and town halls and we have been able to help all of them achieve a solution which improved the quality of the venue and its value to the people using it.

Audio

As churches, community centres and town halls are often built in a very practical manner, this often results in long rectangular rooms with hard surfaces which have poor intelligibility.
One of the largest complaints that a church, community centre or town hall will have from the people who use it will be that they are unable to properly hear the person who is delivering the sermon or presentation.

Venue Technical Services can combat this challenge in 2 ways.
Firstly we use intelligent audio equipment and design the positioning of speakers to minimise the echo effect.
Utilising cleverly designed speakers which are highly directional, they can be aimed at the desired audience and minimise reflections off walls etc.
We then add a digital processor to your sound system which enables us to add a slight delay to the speakers towards the rear of the venue.
This results in the new sound waves generated by the rear speakers to line up with those originating from the front of the venue.
What this means for your audience is that the sound is clear and appears to be coming from the front of the room where the presenter is standing.
Secondly, the venue itself is able to be treated acoustically to reduce the effect of any remaining sound reflections.
Venue Technical Services' background in the theatre industry means we have a large amount of knowledge and experience in acoustics.
We can work with you to custom design the best solution for your churches, community centres or town halls that keeps your audience happy.

Lighting

Whether you are a church who has bands perform or a community centre that hosts small play productions or a town hall where the school students come to perform their drama or dance classes, the use of feature theatre lights is important and becoming increasingly affordable and customisable.
There have been many large advancements in LED technology in recent years and Venue Technical Services has been on the forefront of these developments.
Modern fixtures are relatively inexpensive, offer a huge level of customization and are extremely reliable and efficient.
From simple coloured wash lighting to spotlights for presenters to intelligent moving lights, the effects you can achieve are limited only to your imagination.
Venue Technical Services can guide you through the entire process.
We will help you design your lighting set, supply the lights required and then install them for you.
This will often include specialized lighting bars we build for your church, community centre or town hall.
These bars allow for easy adjustment of lighting positions while also providing all electric circuitry required for the lights themselves.

Audiovisual

The use of video displays or projection screens is common place and expected these days when delivering a sermon or a presentation.
As multipurpose venues like churches, community centres and town halls are often used for these purposes, the correct gear must be used to maximise the usability of the venue.
Variables such as screen size, screen placement, projector throw distance, luminence and input formats all need to be taken into consideration when choosing the right equipment for your church, community centre or town hall.
At Venue Technical Services, not only can we help find the right projection system to suit your venue, but we will install it neatly and professionally.
We also can provide many different locations for the input signal to be plugged in.
This can be from sources in the control booth, or from inputs located on stage, the lecturn itself or any other locations that may be needed for your venue to operate properly.
All of this will be done as cleanly as possible, hiding all cables within the walls, floors and ceiling spaces.

Venue Technical Services will happily assist you with any of the above solutions, but can also provide help with any other issues you may be having.
We can provide equipment, spare parts, perform repairs and maintenance inspections.
